Online Training for Parents

As a parent, carer or family member, do you wonder what is happening in your child’s life and worry about their safety, their ability to make the right choices for themselves?

Do you wish you knew more about some of the risks they may encounter, the influences they feel such as online harms or even exploitation by others?

Do you want to help your child feel comfortable to talk to you or to another trusted adult if they don’t feel safe or have a concern?

We’ve designed a short video package to help all parents, carers and extended family members to understand some of the issues, learn signs and symptoms, and to give practice advice on how best to engage and have a good conversation, even on tricky subjects.

There are two parts, with the first video taking no around 40 minutes, and the second shorter video complete in 25 minutes. You can take breaks when you want, fit watching them around your schedule.

They cover:

Personal safety

Knife crime

Exploitation

Online harm and cyber-bullying

Signs and symptoms that something is wrong

How to have those challenging conversations

Signposting to services that can help you and your children

We hope you find them useful and if you do – tell a friend, share them with other people in your family, help us spread the word to help keep our children safe.
